Wildlife

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) manages Ontario’s natural resources and wildlife on behalf of all Ontarians. Visit the MNRF website to learn more about wildlife management as well as their laws and regulations.

Exotic animals

You can view By-Law B2006-044, our Exotic Animals By-Law to learn about which animals are prohibited as pets within the Municipality of Trent Lakes.

Peterborough Humane Society

The Peterborough Humane Society has been contracted by the Municipality of Trent Lakes to provide animal control and pound services.

If you encounter a loose dog in your neighbourhood, you should first contain the dog and put a leash on it if it is safe to do so, and call the Peterborough Humane Society. How to report issues:
