Tax Rates

To find out the current tax rate for your property, look at your tax bill to see what tax class you are in.

Annual taxes are calculated by multiplying the assessed value of your property by the current year Municipal tax rate. This tax rate is made up of three parts:

  1. Municipality of Trent Lakes portion set yearly based on budget requirements.
  2. County of Peterborough portion set yearly based on budget requirements.
  3. Education portion set by the Province of Ontario.

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) determines the assessed value of each property.
