Livestock Valuers

Please contact the Municipal Office within 48 hours of discovering dead livestock. A Livestock Valuator will visit your property to assess the damage and determine if you're eligible.

The Livestock, Poultry and Honey Bee Protection Act provides that the Council of a municipality shall appoint one or more persons as valuers of livestock and poultry.

Compensation Program

The Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program provides financial assistance to farmers whose livestock, poultry or honey bees have been damaged or killed by wildlife. The Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program is part of The Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a federal, provincial and territorial initiative.

Eligibility

You must have a valid Farm Business Registration (FBR) Number and Premises Identification (PID) Number to be eligible for the program.
