Waste Disposal Fees

If you are disposing of items or materials at one of our Transfer Station Sites, you may be subject to a disposal fee.

Here is a list of the waste disposal fees. You are required to use the recycling and diversion programs available to you. Many of these programs have no disposal fees.

Why Do We Have Fees?

Managing waste is very expensive. Waste brought into the Transfer Station is then removed from site to be either,

  • Landfilled, or
  • Recycled somewhere else

The costs associated with the hauling and disposal of our waste are partially recovered through these disposal fees, thus avoiding the costs being applied directly to property taxes. In this way we ensure that the individual producing the waste is responsible for the cost.

How Are Fees Calculated?

Disposals fees for materials such as construction, shingles, drywall, concrete, etc. is based on the load size or volume of material. The unit of measurement is a cubic yard. Learn more about what is a cubic yard.

For items such as furniture and other bulky waste, there is a fee per item.
