Flood Warning Update issued April 2, 2025

By Otonabee Conservation:

Flood Warning Update - Issued to residents throughout the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation.

Flooding in low lying and flood-prone areas continues along the Trent Severn Waterway and local watercourses, and our region is forecasted to receive heavy precipitation over the next four days.

Today’s forecast calls for 30 to 45mm of snow and/or freezing rain followed by rain, starting Wednesday afternoon and will continue to Thursday morning. An additional 20mm of rain is expected on Saturday, April 5 and above freezing temperatures will result in snow and ice melt causing additional runoff. These conditions will further elevate already high water levels and flow rates. Hazardous conditions and localized flooding are expected to persist in all watercourses throughout Otonabee Conservation jurisdiction.

People are advised to stay away from all shorelines and watercourses.

Residents are advised to monitor conditions and take appropriate action to protect against imminent or occurring flooding along the Kawartha Lakes (within the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation) Otonabee River, and all watercourses. Water levels can be monitored at Trent-Severn Waterway, Water Survey of Canada and Otonabee Conservation websites.
