Peterborough Public Health has a Peterborough Region COVID-19 Risk Tracker dashboard. This interactive dashboard merges the COVID-19 Community Risk Index with local case status data. The menu at the top of the COVID-19 Risk Tracker page allows residents to select other datasets for more information.
The Peterborough tracker will allow residents to make an informed choice for their own personal health. It is suggested that residents view the tracker at least once a week to remain updated on local transmission and guidance.

Stay Home - Isolation Period |
Individuals who feel ill should isolate while symptomatic and return to work or school 24 hours after their symptoms come to an end. You should stay home until all of the following apply to you:

Masking |
Most of the provincial masking requirements, including on public transit, expired on June 11, 2022. Masking continues to be recommended in settings where there are individuals who are at high risk for severe outcomes and is required in long-term care homes and retirement homes. In settings where masking is not required, wearing a mask is a personal choice. You are encouraged to wear a tight-fitting, well-constructed mask if you feel it is the right choice for you. Visiting Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) during COVID-19 universal masking remains in place in all public and patient care areas. A medical-grade mask must be worn at all times when inside the Health Centre, except in the designated area for eating and drinking inside the cafeteria. Enhanced Fast Pass screeningPRHC offers a fast pass screening option for patients, visitors and/or caregivers at both the main entrance and the Emergency Department (ED) entrance. Screening can be done online at prhcscreening.ca 24 hours prior to visiting the hospital building.

Before you call, please be ready to provide your name, date of birth, availability for an appointment and Ontario health care number. To book online, you are required to have an Ontario health card with photo ID. Expired health cards are valid. First and second vaccine appointments will be booked at the same time. If you are having issues with the booking system or have general COVID-19 vaccine questions, please contact the Ministry of Health for assistance at 1-888-999-6488. |
Need transportation to a vaccine clinic? |
Community Care Peterborough is pleased to offer transportation to those need of access to COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics. Individuals requiring transportation do not need to register or be an active client of Community Care to receive this service. Please contact your local community care office to request a ride. You will have to provide your name, address, and vaccination appointment date/time. Based on available resources (volunteer drivers), Community Care will do its best to meet your needs. There will be a small fee charged (based on distance) and payable directly to the driver at the time of pickup. Restrictions:

Ontario no longer requires businesses or organizations to check for proof of vaccination. You can still obtain a vaccine certificate if you require one. If travelling check applicable requirements at your destination in advance, in case you will be required to show proof of vaccination.

Have no computer, photo health card, or just need help? Call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900 to request a copy of your vaccine certificate by email or mail. The Contact centre hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week.

Proof of vaccination is no longer required to board an airplane or train. In Ontario you will no longer required to wear a facemask when riding buses, subways, streetcars and other public transit. You may personally decide to continue to wear one.

From an international destination |
The Government of Canada determines the rules for entering Canada, including individuals who are fully vaccinated. Entry to Canada is determined by the Government of Canada. All federal border testing, quarantine, and isolation requirements ended on October 1, 2022. Stay informed and check COVID-19 travel and border information often to be prepared for changes. |

Canadians will also have to follow entry requirements when travelling to other countries. The Travel Advice and Advisories are the Government of Canada’s official source of destination-specific travel information. They give you important advice to help you to make informed decisions and to travel safely while you are abroad.
Wearing masks on planes and trains in Canada is not required.

Using ArriveCAN is no longer required. However, if you’re flying into Toronto Pearson, Vancouver or Montréal-Trudeau international airports, you can still use ArriveCAN to complete your Advance CBSA Declaration to save time upon arrival. ArriveCAN is available for iOS, Android and web. The mobile app is free and is available in English, French and Spanish (displayed in the language of your device). Make sure you have the latest version of ArriveCAN. The latest version of ArriveCAN (v.3.0.9) was released on July 19, 2022. |

Council meetings continue to be virtual but will be commencing in-person on April 5th, 2022. All meetings will remain hybrid, allowing the public to attend either electronically or in-person. Property taxes and assessments |
In response to COVID-19, the Government of Ontario has announced that the annual Assessment Update has been postponed. Your property assessment for the 2022 property tax year will continue to be based on the fully phased-in January 1, 2016 value (same as the 2021 tax year) unless there have been changes to your property. Well Water Sampling Program for private wells |
Please view the Private Well Owners webpage for more information on Water well testing kits, and the Well Water Sampling Program. The Well Water Sampling Program runs from April to November each year for any resident that owns a private well and wants to ensure their water is safe to drink. Residents can also take samples directly to the Peterborough Public Health Lab for testing even when the program is not running. There is no cost to residents to use the well water sampling program, or for having their well water tested. |
Food banks |
Community Care BuckhornCommunity Care Buckhorn is offering free ready-made frozen Meals on Wheels to people needing meals. They are also partnering with the Municipality of Trent Lakes and offering food vouchers from Foodland for people to come by the Community Centre office to pick up or will deliver to homes. Wellness Together Canada provides tools and resources to help get Canadians back on track. Modules address low mood, worry, substance use, social isolation and relationship issues. |
