Several venues in and around Trent Lakes will be hosting Canada Day celebrations once again! Please remember to stay safe, to be kind, and respectfully observe any health protocols in place at the celebrations. Below are some of the local celebrations in or close to Trent Lakes. Be sure to check the provided links for additional information. Several remind you to bring your lawn chairs and all welcome the wearing of red and white, our Canada flag colours!
Location: Buckhorn Community Centre, 1782 Lakehurst Road, Buckhorn
Time: 10 a.m. to close at 4 p.m.
Free admission, free parking, free shuttle from upper parking lot.
No Fireworks: This year the BCC will not be hosting an evening fireworks but invite you to join them for a fun-filled day celebration Canada Day.
Activities include: crafts, garage sale vendors, Creative Club Family Fun Zone (legos, everblocks), Woolly Wonderland Farm pony cart rides and more, Fly Ball Dogs Demo. Entertainment, BBQ, Birds of Prey demonstration at noon. Learn more
Location: Two locations in Bobcaygeon and a parade down the main street.

Fireworks: Fireworks will take place at 10 p.m. at Tommy Anderson Park (weather permitting, July 2 is the rain date).
Activities include: Children's games and races, hot dogs and beverage, cupcakes and cake, ice cream, jumping castles, face painting, live entertainment and a parade.
Location: Kinmount Fairgrounds, County Road 503 & Reid Street
Time: 5:30 to dusk
Fireworks: Fireworks display at dusk
Activities include: This is a Canada Day Family Picnic. There is an onsite concession stand or bring your own picnic supper! Live music, horse drawn wagon rides, children's games and activities. Royal Canadian Legion Colour Party parade at 7 P.M. Remember to bring your lawn chairs.
In addition, the Highlands Cinema is open! This is a wonderful experience, not just a movie theatre. Check their website for prices, showings and other information.

In addition, the Peterborough Musicfest returns to Del Crary Park this summer every Wednesday and Saturday for July and August. Featuring a special Canada Day kickoff on the evening of July 1, 2022 with the Spoons. Be sure to check the Peterborough Musicfest website for more information and artists featured over the summer. Don't forget the lawn chairs!
