Peterborough County must make an EMERGENCY CLOSURE of the James A. Gifford Causeway to ALL TRAFFIC today, Friday September 29, 2023, commencing at 7:00pm for urgent unforeseen repairs.
This must be completed immediately to avoid a significant safety risk to the travelling public.
The James A. Gifford Causeway will CLOSE FULLY to ALL traffic at 7:00pm this evening to facilitate emergency repairs. The crews will be working extended hours to rectify the situation. The anticipated opening of the Causeway is next Friday October 6, 2023.
Detours will be in place.
