Canada Post Announces Strike

Canada Post announced in a news release that it began a national strike on November 15, 2024.

During the strike, the postal system has shut down, meaning mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for items already in the postal network. No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.

All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume. However, a national strike of any length will impact service to Canadians well after the strike activity ends. Shutting down facilities across the country will affect Canada Post’s entire national network. Processing and delivery may take some time to fully return to normal.

How can I make payments to the Municipality?

Please be advised that payments can be made to the Municipality using various methods, including:

• Pre-authorized payments
• In-person at the front counter during regular business hours (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday)
• Internet and telephone banking
• Credit card payments (online only)
• Mortgage company
• Drop box located at the front door of the Municipality
