Municipality of Trent Lakes Updates Community Grant Policy

The Municipality of Trent Lakes updated its Community Grant Policy on June 20, 2023.

The Municipality supports community non-profit organizations and volunteer groups annually by awarding funding through its Community Grant.

Funding provided helps improve the well-being of the community and quality of life for its residents.

The community grant policy helps provide decision making criteria to members of Council when responding to requests for grants.

By updating this policy, it ensures the grant awarding process is consistent, transparent, fair, demonstrates proper use of public funds and achieves the maximum impact for the investment provided.

Revisions to the policy include:

• Addition of an evaluation matrix table to assist members of Council with fair scoring
• Clarification regarding use of funding for operating expenses
• Slightly increasing the amount awarded annually
• Updating requirements for grant recipients to adhere to applicable legislation
