Media Release by Peterborough County:
Peterborough, ON – In celebration of Ontario’s Small Business Week, Peterborough County is excited to host a ‘Meet the Team’ event at the new Information Hub, located in the historic Old Post Office building in downtown Lakefield. This new hub represents a collaborative effort between Peterborough County, Community Futures Peterborough and the Business Advisory Centre as well as the Peterborough and Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce, designed to provide essential resources and support for local businesses in the region.
On October 21st, 2024, local business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to tour the new location, meet the County’s Economic Development and Tourism Team, and connect with Community Futures Peterborough and Chamber representatives. This joint effort is focused on “Linking Local Businesses to Resources for Success in The Kawarthas” creating a unified approach to support the success of small businesses in this dynamic region.
A Hub for Local Business Success and Visitors
More than just a transition, the Information Hub is an investment in the future of Peterborough County, the eight lower-tier townships, and two First Nations. Together, the County, CF Peterborough and the Business Advisory Centre and the Chamber are committed to ensuring support and stability for local businesses.
“We are confident that tailored solutions that reflect the unique spirit of The Kawarthas are our priority. This is more than just a change in services—it’s a commitment to our community.” says Warden Bonnie Clark.
The new Information Hub will provide access for businesses in The Kawarthas to mentorship, funding assistance, and strategic guidance. The collective expertise of the County’s Economic Development and Tourism team, Community Futures loans and advisory teams, and the Chamber will ensure that businesses have the support they need to navigate their current challenges and seize new opportunities.
“Peterborough County is committed to creating an environment where local businesses can succeed,” continues Warden Clark. “This Information Hub symbolizes our dedication to supporting entrepreneurs and business owners at every stage of their journey. Together, we are setting the stage for their long-term success in our region.”
