UPDATE: A site visit was conducted and there was not an obvious indication of a harmful algae bloom. It appears to be filamentous green algae.

NOTICE: Possible Harmful Algal Bloom in Lower Buckhorn Lake.
The Peterborough District Office of the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks received a notification this morning regarding a possible Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) in Lower Buckhorn Lake, in the vicinity of County Road 36, Municipality of Trent Lakes.
The Ministry is planning a site visit to make observations and, if possible, samples will be collected to identify the algae and for algal toxin analysis.
