Are you a not-for-profit organization looking to raise additional funds? Apply now to join our Alcohol Container Collection Partnership!
Through this partnership, the organization will be able to pick up alcohol containers collected at our transfer station sites and return them for funds.
Due to recent regulation changes, the Municipality is no longer able to recycle alcohol containers. To learn more, visit the Government of Ontario Website.
Each of our four Transfer Station Sites has an area set aside for the collection of alcohol containers. Residents are asked to separate their alcohol containers and place them neatly in the collection area. On average, our sites receive between 500 and 2000 containers per week, depending on the site and time of year. The collection areas fill up very quickly, making it crucial that the local partner can clear them out frequently.
The following is a list of requirements that must be met by the Community Partner:
To be considered for the Alcohol Container Collection Partnership, your organization is required to submit an application detailing why they would be a good fit for the partnership. Submissions should give a brief history of the organization, how they are relevant in the Trent Lakes community, which site they are interested in collecting from, and how they plan to fulfill the requirements of weekly collection.
Submissions can be written in an e-mail and sent to Publicworks@trentlakes.ca or submitted in person at the Municipal Office at 760 Peterborough County Rd 36. Submissions received after December 13th, 2024 will not be considered.
Questions can be directed to Matt Wintjes, Supervisor of Waste/Public Works Coordinator, and can be reached at 705-738-3800 ext. 226.
